Rick O’Connell (Brendan Fraser) returns to The Mummy franchise for a third outing; set this time in ancient China, amid the freezing Himalayas, where he faces a newly-resurrected mummy: Han Emperor (Jet Li). Joining Rick for another adventure is his son Alex (Luke Ford), wife Evelyn (now played by Maria Bello), and Evelyn’s bumbling brother Jonathan (John Hannah).

The story begins with Alex O’Connell, a young archaeologist, who is tricked into awakening the Dragon Emperor from a 2,000 year-long slumber. When the undead mummy arises, Alex races to his parents for help, the only people he know who have defeated armies of the undead.

The Mummy, now resurrected and having fully regained his former power, renews his quest for world-domination by first attempting to bring back to life is army. Only the O’Connells dare stand in his way.
